Katherine Sartori, or Kas, as her friends and readers know her, is a passionate writer, photographer, and teacher who believes in the power of creativity to connect us to ourselves and each other. Based in Los Angeles, California, Kas draws on her diverse life experiences to craft poetry and stories that resonate deeply with her readers. Kas’s journey as a storyteller began at just nine years old when she won a writing contest with a mystery story. The recognition sparked a dream of becoming an author—one that stayed with her through a career in marketing communications and academia. She has spent years blending artistry and expertise, creating promotional materials, managing national trade shows, and teaching writing courses at California State University. In 2012, Kas achieved her dream with the publication of her first novel, The Chosen Shell, and its second edition, CHOICES, a 1960s story of a young nun’s desire to serve God even as she secretly longs for human love. Along the way, poetry began to captivate Kas, as she poured her emotions into over 100 poems that she eventually shared with a local poetry group. The group’s encouragement inspired her to bring her poetry to a wider audience and combine it with her love of photography to create something truly special.
