Kas’s journey as a storyteller began at just nine years old when she won a writing contest with a mystery story. The recognition sparked a dream of becoming an author—one that stayed with her through a career in marketing communications and academia. She has spent years blending artistry and expertise, creating promotional materials, managing national trade shows, and teaching writing courses at California State University. In 2012, Kas achieved her dream with the publication of her first novel, The Chosen Shell, and its second edition, CHOICES, a 1960s story of a young nun’s desire to serve God even as she secretly longs for human love. Along the way, poetry began to captivate Kas, as she poured her emotions into over 100 poems that she eventually shared with a local poetry group. The group’s encouragement inspired her to bring her poetry to a wider audience and combine it with her love of photography to create something truly special. 
Her latest projects, a LOVE Poetry Journal and a CHANGE Poetry Journal, are the first two books in her Poetic Pathways series. These heartfelt journals contain Kas’ poems on love and connection as well as change and transformation, inviting readers to reflect on their own experiences, write their thoughts, and rekindle their dreams. Kas’s mission is to stir emotions, spark creativity, and celebrate the beauty in life’s moments.
A world traveler at heart, Kas has explored more than 60 countries. Capturing their essence through her photography and immersing herself in different cultures propelled her to publish a second novel, Celtic Knots. It’s a story about two lifelong friends who trek through the Celtic Isles learning about their Irish roots and their newfound passions.
Always creating, Kas is also writing a new novel, Russian Ruse, a romantic thriller where her characters, chased by Interpol, escape from Moscow and flee to Paris, London and finally the Dublin countryside. Whether imagining a scene set in foreign lands or jotting down a sudden burst of inspiration Kas is always discovering ways to express herself.
For Kas, writing poetry is a deeply personal and unpredictable process, often fueled by strong emotions. She encourages her readers to pick up a pen and let their thoughts flow freely, creating something uniquely their own.
